ISIS Katrinebjerg
- A competence centre for interactive spaces, pervasive healthcare and software
The Alexandra Institute operates ISIS Katrinebjerg which is also located in the IT City of Katrinebjerg, the new IT district in Aarhus.
ISIS Katrinebjerg focuses on mutual knowledge transfer between universities and the business community through joint research and development projects among others. The overall application area is pervasive computing (IT in everything) with emphasis on the following target areas:
- Interactive spaces that works with integration of IT in our physical surroundings with focus on schools, libraries and the home.
- Pervasive healthcare where the aim is to make healthcare benefits pervasive by means of IT
- Software - where focus is on software infrastructure, software architecture, object technology, safety, safety-critical systems, reliability and user interfaces for pervasive computing.
ISIS Katrinebjerg has a total budget of DKK 105 million and the project period expires by the end of 2006.
ISIS is one of four compentence centres that were established in the Autumn of 2002 as part of the Jutland-Funen IT effort. The four centres are funded partly by the government, counties and municipalities and partly by the participating universities and companies.
