Business understanding
Business understanding for pervasive computing was
established in November 2007 as a new target area for the Alexandra Institute.
Business understanding focuses on knowledge about such things as innovation management,
commercial modelling and effect measurement, which can root down technological
innovation
and provide the optimal framework for a successful innovation process.

Interactive spaces
Interactive Spaces is an interdisciplinary research centre bringing together architecture, engineering and computer science with the research mission to create new concepts for future interactive spaces. The research activities focus on six themes which may be applicable to one or more of the application domain projects undertaken in the centre. The application domains to be studied include schools, libraries, museums, homes and specific workplaces.

IT security
In collaboration with the corporate sector and research environments the
Alexandra Institute has established the Centre for IT security – the first
centre of its kind in Denmark.
In recent years IT security has attracted increased
attention, both in the corporate sector and the general public. Not least because
of the considerable increase in virus and hacker
attacks which have led to heavy losses in both economy and efficiency in many
workplaces. But IT security is more than problems with virus attacks and hackers.
For instance backup, problems with telecommunication, current, e-mail and Internet,
software errors and hardware crashes.
The Centre for IT security focuses on this
broad range of security problems.
