Expertise

The matchmaking expertise was first built in the Danish National Centre for IT Research and subsequently the Alexandra Institute.

Combined, the two have established and executed projects amounting to almost half a billion DKK.

Research and development projects

The Alexandra Institute organises joint research and development projects between companies and researchers. For many members the largest benefit regarding membership of the Alexandra Institute is participation in such projects. The projects are often a result of a previous idea generation process. In connection with the projects the role of the Alexandra Institute is:

  • Matchmaking
Establishment of a consortium of companies and researchers – here members of the Alexandra Institute will be preferred.
  • Project elaboration
Coordinator on the preparation of a project specification.
  • Preparation of a project budget
Preparation of a budget with the expected costs and the distribution of the work between the companies and the researchers.
  • Fund-raising
Assistance in raising funds for the project – the Institute does not have its own funds to support projects and consequently funds must be raised before a project can be initiated.
  • Project management
    Project administration and project management.
  • Participation in projects
Participation in the technical part of the projects.
  • Communication
Communication and promotion of the project results.

The Alexandra Institute sets a number of conditions and models for organisation of a project in order to secure that companies as well as researchers benefit specifically from a project. Furthermore, there are different models and conditions for funding and an agreement must be produced as regards rights and confidentiality.
